Practice to Evolve!
Physical is a field that is not the same today as it was yesterday. It is incredibly easy to stagnate and burnout on an incredibly meaningful and fulfilling profession when we aren't regularly stimulated. The thing no one wants to admit is that physical therapy can also be boring when it's the same day-in-day-out, assembly line of patients every day. Even with advanced training, we gravitate towards techniques, thought processes, and philosophies that we are familiar and comfortable with. While it seems like niching down on our specialty makes us excellent at our craft, it also makes us just that - craftsmen. Rather than doing the same thing every day, we must rather be problem solving professionals, equipped with many tools to address a patient's need when our "bread and butter" fails us.

This approach requires humility, openness, and above all, a willingness to be uncomfortable. In order to evolve, one must not only gain skills to adapt to complicated cases, but also be willing to move past the point of stagnation. Evolve Clinical Education is the source of quality and applicable continued education which is the solution to therapist stagnation and aversion to progress. We embrace the discomfort that is required for growth. We are an outcomes driven organization that emphasizes openness in our own growth, and in our courses.

Our field becomes less effective when it cuts out effective treatment approaches because one may be better statistically. The better approach is to ask the question of why and when one may be superior to another, and identify the scenarios where each may be effective.

Physical therapy is a practice, and the day we stop practicing, and the day we cease to evolve.

Chris West started Evolve Education after experiencing firsthand the pitfalls of tunnel vision and closed-mindedness within the Physical Therapy field. Chris has made it his goal to create common a physical therapy practice mindset among therapists in the United States. This mindset is one of collaboration that puts the patient first, seeking to identify the best possible treatment for a particular patient at a particular time.

Chris started his journey seeking clinical excellence by participating in and completing a fellowship in orthopedic manual therapy, while also pursuing experience and mentorship and training in various other orthopedic topics outside of the scope of manual therapy.
​
In 2020, he began offering local CEU courses to local physical therapists to share topics covered in his training. What started as a fun augment to his practice turned into a full education business. Evolve now offers courses throughout Louisiana and other surrounding states, as well as virtual synchronous and asynchronous classes for online learning.
